Mom needs to have a serious talk with dad on this one. Dad should never have even begun to take the girls in the men's rooms. Public Men's rooms are disgusting. There are often family restrooms which are perfect. My daughter is 16yrs old and this is how we handled it. Dad would find ways to bring her into the women's room. Believe it or not women want to help. He would knock loudly on a public restroom door and ask if he could bring our 2yr old daughter in. Women (especially moms) always approved of his doing this. He would take her into the stall to help until she was old enough for him to stand at the entrance and wait for her. Maybe 4yrs old. He never took her into any men's room at all and he never had any woman bother with him taking her in as long as he was open and fairly outgoing about what he was doing. He could also ask a woman going in to check on her if she took longer than he thought prudent as she got older. As for the 6 year old mentioned in the article.. this is a definite privacy issue. He should be sending her in women's room and standing at the entrance waiting for her to come out. I brought my son into the ladies room until I felt he was safe in the men's room maybe 6yrs old and I could wait or older sister would wait at the entrance.
